Algae is mostly found in ponds cuz they need a moist environment for their survival.Secondly,the reproduction process of algae basically needs a watery medium.Hence,algae blooms well in ponds and the banks of river as well.

No frnd it dosent have anything to do with photosu=ynthsis.
the efficiency of land and water plants to photosynthesize is basically the same.
The only differecnce lies in it way if getting nutrient,i.e;land plants get their nutrients from soil and water plants from water itself.
