why are Alveoli covered with blood capillaries

Alveoli fill themselves with oxygen and to, pass that oxygen to blood, alveoli are covered with blood capillaries.

Alveoli are tiny air sacks. To have the flow of oxygen these alveoli have blood capillaries.
