Airplanes are streamlined so that they experience less friction with the air around them as they fly. Friction slows the airplane down and causes it to consume more fuel, so reducing friction is important. Since airplanes fly at high speed and do not ride on wheels, friction with the air is the main factor in fuel consumption. The faster the aircraft is designed to fly, the more streamlined it tends to be. It becomes a serious issue at supersonic speeds. That's why they r streamlined

Airplanes are made streamlined to reduce friction drag. Fiction drag is the force exerted by fluids ( like air and water) in the direction opposite in which the object is moving. When a airplane is flying in the air, it faces the friction drag by the air which can create problems for it to fly.The streamlined structure of airplane helps it to fly easily in the air
