Bryophytes are called amphibians of the plant kingdom because theseplants though live in soil but they need water for sexual reproduction. The sperm of bryophyte (antherozoids) are flagellate and need water to swim to the eggs.

Amphibians are those animals which live on both land and water. And Bryophita are called ambians of plant kingdom because they live on soil that is land but need water for Sexual reproduction
