Why are car bodies designed so that air resistance is reduced as much as possible?

air resistance is important in making a car body!!! Because the more the streamlined shape the more the car is air resistant means it cuts through air to go at its maximum speed!!

Car bodies are designed slimlined so as to reduce the frictional force acting on the car body.Thus increasing car's speed.
