Actually this the concept of Isomerism......
so for the condition for the optical activity to happen the....given compound should be Cyral carbon In nature and also the compound should be unsymmetrical I nature....so thus the carbohydrates are unsyymetrical and partially Cyral In nature thus they are always optically active. ........
