The reasons for using carbon as fuels are :
1. When the compounds containing carbon is burnt in the air, it produces much heat and a lot of light.
2. The carbon compounds that are saturated, when burnt, do not produce any smoke and hence does not contribute to pollution.
3. Also the saturated ones, burns with a clean or clear flame.
4. Also, these compounds possesses high amount of calorific values.
