It is drained by numerous rivers that supports irrigation facilities.

It is fertile due to the presence of alluvial and black soils that supports agriculture better in this region.

Central highlands are good for agriculture

This area is covered with grass and bushes of varying heights. The bushes (Atriplex) serve as a good fodder crop for the sheep. They are very drought resistant and the leaves have a high protein content. In some areas trees were planted along the farm tracks.
