Why are chemical fertilizers used in new farming methods? How could use of
fertilizers make soil less fertile? What are the alternative ways of enriching
soil?

The chemical fertilizers increase the amount of production of crops to a great extent, therefore their use is increasing rapidly.As most of  the farmers are unaware of the proper use and the harms caused by them, they use them in high quantities which clogs the soil when mixed with water used for irrigation.This causes the soil to become less fertile. The alternative ways to enrich the soil are --
1. crop rotation
2. use of natural fertilizers like manure etc.
3.keep a check on the quantity and quality, if using chemical fertilizers.
