Why are coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal?

We use alloys because of its resistivity and melting point.if we use pure metal the toasters and electric irons they get melted .because it has low melting point. If we use alloys they will not melt because they have high melting point.so we use alloys in toasters and electric irons.
