Aluminium forms an oxide layer over its surface when it comes in contact with the atmosphere. This aluminium oxide layer prevent the material from corrosion. Since it can protect itself from corrosion, aluminium is used in making utensils.

Because aluminium form a heat-resitant oxide over its surface that prevents any chemical reaction from taking place
