SagarSuman: The male sex cell is called a sperm. It is much smaller than an egg cell and has a head containing the nucleus, and a tail which enables it to swim. The female sex cell is called an egg. It contains the female nucleus and store of food.

♢ Sperm is smaller because it only contains haploid chromosome and some Mitochondria whereas an egg cell contains almost all the cell organelles and diplod zygote also

♢ Sperm cell is motile so it has to be small but egg cell is stable and has to store food so it is larger than the sperm cells.
