Enzymes are soluble protein molecules that can speed up chemical reactions in cells. These reactions include respiration, photosynthesis and making new proteins. For this reason enzymes are sometimes called biological catalysts

1.Catalyst is the atom or molecule which increases the rate of a certain chemical reaction without being consumed in the reaction.
2.The catalyst which are found found in living organisms that increase rate of specific biochemical reaction without being consumed are BIOCATALYSTS.
Now coming to the question:- Enzymes are BIOCATALYSTS because they help to speed up the biochemical reaction (like digestion of protein, carbohydrates etc.) without being consumed.Hope it helps.
