Fossils provide us the relations between different species.for eg archeopteryx is a fossil which has teeth and tail like that of reptiles and wings like that of birds which proves that birds have evolved from reptiles
Methods to determine age of fossils
Relative method fossils found in deeper strata of earth's surface are older and simpler and fossils found in upper strata are new and complex
Radioactive method to determine age of new fossils the amount of carbon 14 left in fossil is calculated
To determine age of old fossils the ratio of radioactive uranium and non radioactive lead is calculated

Fossils provide evidence in favour of evolution and establish evolutionary relationship by providing missing links.

The two methods of estimating the age of soil are:-

1. If we dig into the earth and start finding fossils, the fossils we find closer to the surface are more recent than the forces we find in deeper layers. It is relative method.

2. The second way of dating fossils is by detecting the ratio of different isotopes of the same element in the Fossil material.

Hope it helps.
If you satisfied mark it brainliest.

And
All the best for your exam.
