why are gaseous fuels considered better than liquid or solid fuels

Calorific value is defined as the amount of heat energy produced on complete combustion of 1 kilogram of a fuel.  

And unlike other solid and liquid fuels it does not leaves any ash.

And it produces very little air pollution.

Due to the above reasons gaseous fuel is always better than solid and liquid fuels.

Answer:

-It has lower energy content than liquid fuels such as petrol and diesel. -It produces very low greenhouse gas upon burning and hence causes less air pollution as compared to liquid and solid fuels. -It causes less starting problems and freezing problems in engines. Also less air is required for its combustion.
