why are gases different at both electrodes?

is because when ionization takes place then the compound breaks and into negative and positive ions and negative ions will go to cathode and positive ions to anode

because during electrification the compounds ionize and whichever iron as the release they are either positive or negative and the negative go towards the cathode where is the positive go towards the anode
