Why are gasses easily compressible while it is difficult to compress solid or a liquid

It is because the molecules of the gasses are much more spread out than the solids.

the intermolecular spaces is higher in gases compared to solids and liquids




not only that but the force of attraction is also very less compared to other states of matter


that is why they ate highly compressible
