According to the Aufbau principle, in the ground state of an atom or ion the electrons fill atomic orbitals of the lowest energy levels first, before filling the higher energy levels. So, in groups 1,2,13,14,15,16,17,18 the electrons fill in the orbitals of each element according to the Aufbau's principle.
