though kulhad have many advantages like biodegradable , affordable cost still kulhads are not used today due to following reason..
1. kulhad can't be made and supplied easily on large scale..
2. making of kulhad requires top fertile soil so if kulhads are made on large scale it will require top fertile soil and this will result in loss of fertility of soil..

Kulhads refer to the handmade Diyas. Kulhad is a Hindi term that means to lighting out the whole society. There are generally made by potters which is sold whole throughout the villages & are also sold in cities.
These are not being used these days because they are replaced by electric blind which are far convenient & easy to use for the people. People don't prefer to light from Kulhads as they emit very low light.
Day by day the people are moving towards the use of new & technological things due to which the practices of lighting Kulhads are just observed in festivals to pray the god specially in Hinduism.
