Becaz the earth's exis is tilted...it is all about the tilt of earth's exis...many people believe that the temperature changes because the earth is closer to the sun in summer and farther from the sun in winters....also the long nights and short days prevent the earth form warming up.....so longer the days warmer the earth....

HEY YOUR ANSWER :

The Earth's tilt on its axis is what causes the change in the seasons and explains why summer days are longer than winter. Many people believe that the temperature changes because the Earth is closer to the sun in summer and farther from the sun in winter .
The long nights and shorter days prevents the Earth for heating more and more heated or warm.
