During break down of the cell structure then the cell gets damaged lysosomes may burst and the enjymes eat up their own cells.
Therefore lysosomes are also known as suicidal bag of the cell.

Lysosomes are also called digestive bags because they destroy any foreign material which enter the cell such as bacteria and virus
they serve as intracellular digestive system.

hope it will help..........

"Lysosomes are known as suicide bags of the cell because they contain lytic enzymes capable of digesting cells and unwanted materials."

  • Lysosomes are round-shaped sacs filled with hydrolytic enzymes that can break down a lot of the types of biomolecules.
  • Autolysis bursts open when the cell is damaged. This causes the hydrolytic enzymes to be released. The released enzymes then digest their cell, which causes the cell to die. Because of this they are known as cell suicide bags.
  • The main task of lysosomes is digestion and waste excretion. Cellular debris or foreign particles are brought into the cell through the endocytosis process.
  • The endocytosis cycle occurs when the cell membrane falls on itself, forming a vacuole around the external contents and then getting those contents into the cell.
  • When lysosomes burst, the enzymes within the organelle spread all over the cell, destroying the cell membrane or cell wall and inducing the death of the cell.
