The distribution of minerals on earth is dependent on a few factors like how and when they were formed. When earth was forming, the distribution of the minerals took place.

Geographical location is an important factor. The areas having volcanoes are rich in metallic minerals. It can be found when the volcano above erode away.

Thus heavy metallic minerals are mostly found in the core of the planet whereas the lighter minerals can be obtained from the crust.

The distribution of natural resources depends upon many physical factors like land, climate and altitude. The distribution of resources is unequal because these factors differ from place to place on this earth.
