why are Night drivers are advised to drive with dim headlights while driving in the night (function of rods, iris of the eyes)[Don't copy paste from google]

I think it's because we cannot see an object in absence of light

In the presence of dim light the we usually observe that the object appears to bee dark (black and white vision) it is due to the action of rods present
