Why are northern plains called Indo-Ganga-Brahmaputra plain??

Explanation:

Northern plains are generally known as the depositional plains. This is because it is formed due to the deposits brought down by the flowing river Indus, Ganga and Brahmaputra. This is mainly the alluvium deposit which is very fertile. The sediments brought down by the flowing river settles in the Northern plains
