  • Opposition parties are very important for smooth running of democracy because our Constitution has given equal importance foreseeing some of the possible problems a government can cause and it certainly gives an option to maintain CHECKS &BALANCES on government.even a leader of opposition party has the status equal to a cabinet minister in India. Opposition has a right to question and get those answered by the Union cabinet during the sessions. They are also crucial for putting pressure on government and getting some works done through them. So,in a democracy ,”Stronger the Opposition party, more will be the Accountability of government”.
