All the organic compounds contain carbon in them .
And carbon has an excellent property of catenation by which it can form bonds with other carbon atoms and form a big chain or ring or branched chain forming large molecules. And carbon is tetravalent in nature and due to all these reasons the carbon can form millions of bonds and thus resulting into millions of compounds hence the organic compounds are present in very large number
