Why are parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and the leeward side of the Western Ghats are drought-prone? pls give the answer according to CBSE class 9 syllabus.

because although they are at the leeward side they have the aravalli range which is parallel to the southwest monsoon thus it is not obstructed by the aravalli range as it is parallel so rajasthan gujrat and other places over there do not receive rainfall and are drought prone
