hey there , pea is a leguminous plant , that means it can convert atmospheric nitrogen into plant usable forms by the presence of a bacterium called rhizobium . when wheat is grown it uses the nitrogen content present in the soil . pea on the other hand returns nitrogen back t othe soil .
