Why are plant cells square, when animal cells are round?

Plant cells are square because they have thick cell walls that keeps them compressed. Otherwise they would be round just like animal cells. They, indeed will be round if cell wall is digested away by enzymes.

plant cell are not square it has many edges and cell wall thus it looks like somewhat square and animal cell have only plasma not cell wall thus it looks like round
