Why are plastics considered an environmental hazard? Give reasons in support of your answer

Land. Chlorinated plastic can release harmfulchemicals into the surrounding soil, which can then seep into groundwater or other surrounding water sources and also the ecosystem. This can cause serious harm to the species that drink the water. Landfill areas contain many different types of plastics.

Plastics are considered as an environmental hard because they do :

1. soil pollution

2. Blockage of drains and sewer lines.

3. Death of animals who happen to chew these bags alongwith the food wrapped therein.

4. Reduces the percolation of water into the soil.
