You can store pickels in plastic containers and they do not get spoilt because plastics are non corrosive as, pickels, being an acid, reacts with metals so plastic containers are used.
Metals show reactivity towards food products, especially acidic food products like buttermilk, pickles etc., In comparison to that plastic is unreactive and hence is preferred to store such food products.

Because plastic being non reactive don't react with the citric acid of the pickle and hence preferred over metals as metals may react with the pickle.
