PLASTIDS able to make their own proteins because they have their own ribosomes and DNA.
They are also known as the kitchen of the cell

Plastids contain chloroplast which contains chlorophyll. chlorophyll is green in colour and that have the ability to do the process of photosynthesis. so by the end of the process atcs starch which produces proteins.
