Pteridophytes grow in soil.They have well developed roots,stem and leaves for conduction of food and water.They do not bear flowers and fruits. They reproduce with the help of spores present along the back or posterior surface of the leaves. Some examples of Pteridophyta are Nephrolepis , Marsilea, Pteris, Adiantum, Lycopodium,etc.

Cryptogams reproduce by forming spores. Their reproductive organs are hidden. They are less evolved plants.Cryptogams are divided into Thallophyta, Bryophyta, and Pteridophyta
