Why are Pteridophytes grouped under Trachaeophyta?

The pteridophytes are placed under tracheophytes because of the following reasons :

1. The main reason behind this is that pteridophytes possesses vascular body system. And those plants that have this special system are termed as tracheophytes.

2. Among all the groups of the kingdom of plant, pteridophytes are the 1st one to possess the vascular system.

3. This plant has parts or sections like stems, leaves and roots that can be differentiated.

4. Examples : Selaginella, Lycopodium.
