Why are rear wheels of a tractor very wide

because in fields the tractor will dig in the soil
and due to increase in the width of the tyre the surface area will be increased thus allowing the tractor work efficiently.

The wheel of tractor are very wide as they have to carry the load and to float over the surface. and to get morw torque radius of tier is wide.
