Why are saprotrophs also called decomposers?

The decomposed help to decompose the dead nd decaying matters.Saprotrophs take nutrients from dead nd decaying matters like dead animals ,plants etc....They also help to decompose dead nd decaying matters.. That's why they are called decomposer.
