The fruit has a single purpose: seeddispersal. Seeds contained withinfruits need to be dispersed far from the mother plant, so they may find favorable and less competitive conditions in which to germinate and grow.
Seeds dispersed by water are contained in light and buoyant fruit, giving them the ability to float.

Seed dispersal is a natural phenomenon which leads to the growth of more plants.
When a fruit gets eaten by a bird or any animal, the speed falls down on the ground. The various agents of nature such as water led to it's growth into a plant and ultimately into a tree.
So, seed is dispersed to led to the rise of other trees.
