Why are shadows at noon shorter than in the morning shiet form?

The sun rays are slanting in the morning and at noon it is just above our head so shadows are longer in the morning as the size of the shadow depends on the position of object from the source of light. This is the reason thay shadows are shorter at noon than in the morning short form.
