Sikhs like to settle in Canada just like in any other country because there are chances to pursure hope and to give family a better life.
Another reason maybe that we ( Punjabis ) have a long term relation with Canada. Our ancestors have moved here and made this their second home in search of better standards of living.

Canada is already a mini Punjab esp. Surrey (BC) , Brampton (ON). People love to join their friends and family settled there already.
Punjabi is third official language in Ontario.
We have free Healthcare whereas our neighbor America is still dealing with complications in their system.
Older generations of Punjabis went to England and the newer ones are struggling and regretting the day they landed in Queen's homeland.
