Snow fed rivers are perennial rivers .i.e, these rivers have water all throughout the year and thus hydroelectric power stations built on these rivers will get an unaltered water supply all throught the year and hence, electricity can be generated all year long.

This is not possible in the case of rain fed rivers as these river tend to dry up at summers(or in the dry season).
