Why are so many people fascinated by mysteries? What features might make one mystery more fascinating than another

So many people fascinated by mysteries because sometimes they are shocking and sometimes unbelievable.

Example - THE MYSTERY OF MANSAROVAR AND RAKSHASA TAL

The two lakes are next to each other and divided by the thin isthmus of the mountains . however , lake mansarovar remains calm irrespective of the weather conditions whereas , rakshasa tal remains constantly stormy. Mansarovar is one of the highest fresh water lake shaped like a round sun while rakshasa tal is one of the highest salt water lake shaped like a cresent moon . The 2 lakes represents good and evil respectively.
