Bcz they r highly reactive and even start reacting with air if kept outside

Sodium and potassium are stored under kerosene because they have a very low ignition temprature and hence they are highly inflammable.They react with even very little water and air contains water vapour so when they are open in the air they burst with exposion.Hence,they are stored in kerosene.
