A solar eclipse is caused by moon lining up with the line from where you are to the sun.
Venus and Mercury are too far away and will make a small speck against the surface of the sun when they line up at that.
other planet have orbit outside the Earth's and cannot line up like that. Anything that causes solar eclipse has to be between you and sun.
And the moon is the only thing that is close to us, big enough and can come between you and sun to cause solar eclipse.
