Why are solids rigid and incompressible

It is incompressable because the interparticular spaces between the molecules of a solid structure is very small. Also its force of attraction is very high.

HEY MATE HERE IS YOUR ANSWER:-

it is because the constituent particles in solids are closely packed and the forces of attraction among these particles are very strong he is have fixed positions and can only oscillate about their mean position.
