Why are some elements classified as metalloids? How are metalloids different from metals and metalloids?

this is because in some element both metal and non metal character are found so some element are classify into metalloids.

ex--- silicon

Because some metal poses the quality of both metal and non metals. They are intermediate between them. Metalloids are different from metals because they some of them don't have high tensile strength
