why are some plants called insectivorous plants

They are called insectivorous because such plants does not contain chlorophyll and eat insects for the energy they require

plants like Venus fly trap are ensectivorous .when the ensect sits on their cap like lid it traps the insect inside and inside their body are hair pointing downwards .they makes the insect unable to move.they also secrete some chemical inside
these plants are known as insectivorous plants
