Smaller states signify empowerment of common people. Re-distribution of tax and other resources ensures that money and resources are being utilized for the overall development of the entire state rather than being concentrated on a few areas.
The states of India are not of the same size because the states of India are divided on the basis of religion, language, culture,etc. not by sizes.
