Tall mirrors are placed in small offices to create an illusion of space.

When the work place is very small tall mirrors are placed to give a false dimension to it. By keeping the mirrors the effective length of the room seems to be more.

If the mirrors are placed strategically in a room they can visually add square footage. A tall mirror makes a narrow room look taller. It bounces off the light from light fixtures and illuminates the room. If there are interesting tiles on the ceiling the tall mirror reflects them beautifully.

Well , this is just done to create just a false dimension and illusion.

This is because the place have to be look like a large place thus the false illusion is created  in order to make the place look  like a bigger room. Actually the effective length of the room  appears just like a increased room hence it like a big room by placing the mirrors. This also helps  sometimes in the beautification of the room.
