Democracy is potentially the only sustainable form of social organization due to its essential ideal of one person equals one vote. (In my imagined ideal, "one vote" ultimately means influence on all decisions in every level of government in an inclusively participatory form of administrative organization.)

Two ways to strengthen democracy are through

1. education, because an educated citizenry is an engaged citizenry, and

2. decentralized and distributed systems of access and decision-making on broader levels (to prevent a coalescence of power from developing disproportionate influence within administrative policy).

Democracy works best when it works as it is intended as long as the universal value of equality (or equity, if one prefers) is valued as a fundamental principle for defining direction.
