Why are the hulls of submarines speciallystrenghened?

the hulls of the submarines are highly strenghtened to withstand the high preesure depp in the ocean the preessure of the atmosphere and the water in tiop totally ly ion the hulls and might break the sub,arine due to this the hulls are string and thick.
